PROFICIENCY AND. COMPETENCY CERTIFICATES.

Under the new regulations, in order to qualify for the issue of a proficiency or competency certificate it is necessary for a child to attend school until the date fixed by regulation for, the issue of certificates, notwithstanding the fact that such child may have attained the age of 14.years before that date. It is hoped that prospective employers of juvenile labour will note the alteration and make their arrangements- accordingly. Any child finally leaving school before the time fixed will not at any time in the future be entitled to receive a proficiency or competency certificate, notwithstanding the fact that he, or she, may have been accredited or passed the test set for it.
