MR. SPEAKER'S POSITION

The Speaker of the House of Representatives (the Hon. Sir Charles Statham), who has been in residence at Parliament Buildings for some days, has now vacated his rooms. This does not mean that his occupancy of the office of Speaker has terminated. Under the Constitution Sir Charles Statham will continue to act as Speaker until his successor is appointed.. This will not take place until Parliament is called together, probably in February of next year.
