ART GALLERY EXHIBITION
LECTURE ON LITHOGRAPH*
The collection of lithographs now boing shown at the Whitmore Street Gallery by courtesy of the Senefeldei'. Club, London, is attracting considerable interest among the art-loving public. Lithography is a branch -of:-the fine arts which is little understood.' or practised in New Zealand except. by. commercial printing firms, which use the process extensively for the making of posters, reproductions, etc. The present exhibition is in no sense '^ collection of commercial art works but comprises lithographs by many of the world's most famous artists who have used this medium for its own sake, in, order that the public may gain an insight of the method by which lithographs are made, and so be better abla to appreciate the pictures on exhibition, arrangements have been mjde for Mr. C. M. Banks to give a lecture -at the Art Gallery at 8 o'clock tonight. Materials used in the making of'a lithograph, will be on view," arid Mr. Banks will explain their uses.' Th« lecture will be open to the public.
