DILEMMA FOR THE KING
LONDON, November 30.
The Athens correspondent of "The; Times" says that the King was in aui extraordinary dilemma between General Kondylis and the Assembly whilh' masses of the people who were !«:- cently resentful or indifferent to I§ie restoration were recalling his Majesty's undertaking to forget the ptrst and rule as King.
All Greeks sympathetically watered the efforts to secure an amnesty :for the March rebels and the formatiorm of a business Ministry to hold free elections. Nevertheless, newly-coiriijais-sioned or promoted officers opriosed the reinstatement of their cashiered predecessors, while General Bjapas, chief of the air force,- who. prfj^ided at the court-martial which ordered the execution of the octogenarian ■GfeTaeral Papoulos, is reported to be apprehensive of Papoulos's exiled son, ■■who is threatening vengeance. This is jjiot an isolated case. Moreover, M. Pajpagos, the War Minister, suggested ttoiit the returning officers should be reqioired to live in" specified localities.
