HEALTH CAMPAIGN
MAGICIANS' CONCERT
Children from all the Wellington city, schools were entertained in great numbers in the Town Hall on Saturday; afternoon, when the Wellington Magicians' Society gave a highly meritorious *" performance in aid of the Health Camp; Fund. Many of the children saw examples of the magician's art'lor the first time, and the rounds of applause ' which followed each item gave ampla evidence of appreciation. Disappearing rabbits, pigeons, etc., were features of the afternoon. A standard lamp with electric bulb illuminated was made to appear from nowhere, and a particularly clever piece of work was the inexplicable appearance of a lady; in an apparently empty and not overlarge dolls' house. Lightning sketching and a ventriloquial act, with tha life-size doll Ned, also aroused an.enthusiastic response. The concert would r/Jt have .been complete without tha comedian, whose antics delighted the children. Girl Guides gave their services in the sale of sweets. The Magicians' Society will give a£ concert for adults in the Concert Chamber on Monday, December 9. This also will be in aid of the Health Camps funds.
