HUTT VALLEY R.S.A.
ANNUAL REUNION
The tenth annual reunion of the Hutt Valley branch of the K.S.A. which was held in the clubrooms at Lower Hutt on Saturday evening was most successful. Fully 115 members were present. The president. Colonel C. E. Butcher, presided, j An ' excellent entertainment was provided by the so-? cial committee and \ the decoration of the tables was carried out by the women s committee under the supervision of Mrs. Free. ' •
Among the guests were Lieutenant^ Colonel A. Cowles (president.of. .tha Wellington R.SJU, Mr. J. Spence (secretary) Mr. F. E. Bailey (secretary of the War Relief Association), Mr. [Harper (treasurer of the R.SA.'lieadquarters), Mr. A. Scholefield (Mayor of Petone), Mr. J. W. Andrews (Mayor of Lower Hutt), Mr. H. E. Hewitt (employment officer of the Civil Re* establishment League), and Mr. L. G. Lowry, M.P. for Otaki. : Apologies for absence were received from Mr. Walter Nash, M.P., Mr. McKam, Mr. E. Glading, Hon. W. Perry, M.L.C.,. Mr. Gorton, x • Mr. Harrison; Major Taylor, and Mr. Ashton.. The following toasts were honour* cd:—"The King," proposed by the president; "The Hutt Valley R.5A..." proposed by Mr. Harper and replied to by Mr. T. Smith; 'The Nursing Service and Our Lady Helpers,'.1 proposed by Lieutenant-Colonel Cowles and replied to by Mr. A. E. Pattinson; "Absent Comrades," proposed by the president and drunk in silence, after which "Requiem" was sung by Mr. A. Robins; "Our Visitors," proposed byi Mr. G. Hayton and replied to by Mr. Hewitt, Mr. Bailey, and Mr. Spence. Items were contributed during the. evening by the following:—Song, Mr. McDonagh; song,. Mr. Dv Fau; mono* logue, Mr. G.
