"Kitchen Tea." Miss Edna Birrel, whose -wedding will take place shortly, was the guest of honour at a pleasant kitchen tea given recently by Mrs. Auld, 51 Waitoa Road, Hataitai. Dancing and games were enjoyed by the guests, the Monte Carlo dance being won by Miss Hilston and Mr. Loach. After a dainty supper had been served, the guest of honour had an amusing time of opening up the many useful gifts. Dickens Fellowship. Attention is drawn to the advertisement in this issue, regarding the December meeting of the Dickens Fellowship which will take the form of a plain and fancy Dickens period costume social. A varied programme has been arranged and competitions, music, and other items will help to provide an enjoyable evening's entertainment. 3T.M.C.A. Ladies' Auxiliary. The last meeting for the year of the V.M.C.A. Ladies' Auxiliary Boys' Division was held recently, when there was an excellent attendance under the chairmanship of Mrs. Brooker (president). Members reported a very satisfactory result from the "Shopping Day" held last week. Arrangements were made to assist with the supper at the breakup of the boys' division on December 6. Several donations in cash and of gifts of tea towels were gratefully received. Members agreed to assist at the Optimists' luncheon in December. Mr. Steptoe (boys' work secretary) reported on the progress of the camp huts at Otaki, and extended an invitation to members to visit the boys during the holidays. Afternoon tea was served by Mesdames Haire and Bridges.
