LEADERS TO SPEAK
Arrangements have been made by the New Zealand Broadcasting Board to give a national service this evening in respect to the election results. From 7.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. the four main stations will broadcast results individually. From 8.30 p.m. onwards, the broadcasting will be taken over by 2YA, Wellington, which station will ■be rebroadcast by IYA, 3YA, and 4YA. In addition to the actual voting results from every electorate, returns of the party strengths will be transmitted from time to time.
Arrangements have been made for the party leaders to speak through the board's four main stations. The Prime Minister will speak from Wellington at 10.45 p.m.; the Minister of Finance will speak from Dargaville at 11 p.m.; the Leader of the Labour Party will speak from Auckland at 11.15 p.m.; and the Leader of the Democrat Party will speak at 11.30 p.m. from Masterton.
Sir Charles Statham, ex-Speaker of the House of Representatives, will be in attendance at 2YA, and as the position develops will comment on the party position, as revealed by the latest returns, and on personal aspects of the results.
