CASES FCi|R ADJUSTMENT (By Telegraph-pPress Association) DANrJEVIRKE, This Day. The Minister atf Lands (the Hoh. Sir Alfred Ransom) issued today the following statement in regard to the provision of the Laud . Laws Amendment Act, 1935, and toit'lie adjustment of discharged, soldier iiettlement and State Advances (Mortgage Corporation) mortgage revaluations. "The Land La\vs Amendment Act, 1935, provides thjat practically all Crown tenants on; rural land now have the right to apply to the Commissioner of Crown Lands; for their districts for revaluation o£ their holdings. Applications will be considered by special committees, each consisting of the Commissioner of Cro»vii Lands, the district, valuer, and'a practical farmer appointed by the Minister. Several committees . are baing appointed ineach land district.
"Consideration is also to be given to .all. cases where, rural Crown tenants and'returned aoldier settlers are in arrears with theiir rent and interest payments. Theae will be disposed of by way of remissions or postponements according to the merits of the individual cases. -
"Special consideration will be given to the question of granting a concession to soldier settlt-r pensioners and to the widows of > soldier ■ settlers working their late husbands' proper-5 ties, nl both cases an adequate allowance will be made for reasonable expenditure for labotir costs and for medical and special treatment.
"In furtherance of Ihe policy of the Government to encotirage voluntary adjustment of mortgages arrangements have been madjp in cases where rural land is subject Ao disacherged soldiers' settlement or>.Siate Advances (now Mortgage Corporation) mortgages for mortgagors to appsy direct to the Commmissioner of Cro»vn Lands or to the manager of. the 'Mortgage Corporation respectively fete voluntary adjustment of their mortgages, thus removing the necessity far stay orders
or Budgetary control. Such applications will be considered l)y the special committees which have been set up to deal with revaluations under the Land Act. . "Where private mortgages are also involved 'settlers may ha.ye recourse to the ■ Mortgagors Final Adjustment Act."
