LYALL BAY-KILBIRNIE

The Lyall Bay-Kilbirnie branch of the League of Mothers held.tbeir final meeting for the year recently^ when*-'* large number of members and friends attended. The president (Mrs. R. W. B. Young) ..presided and welcomed all those-present; who included Mrs. Leslie Wall (provincial secretary), who spoke a few words, bringing greetings from the Miramar Branch, of which she is the president

■ The speaker for the afternoon was Mrs. (X .Burton, who gave an address on "Girls in their Adolescence." She stressed the need for careful guidance on the part of the parent or guardian. The president moved a very hearty vote of thanks to the speaker which was carried by acclamation.

A short induction service was held by the president, when eight new members were enrolled.

The branch choir sang two very beautiful glees and a Christmas carol And Mesdames Lyon and Montgomery sang a duet and generously responded to an encore. Mrs. Young congratulated Miss Robs.on and her choir on their excellent singing, which Mrs. Wall endorsed. Afternoon tea was 'served by the aommittee.
