AUSTRALIAN FILM INDUSTRY
On his way to America to investigate the latest developments in the motion picture industry, Mr. M. Ehrenreich, managing director of Monogram Pictures, Ltd., Australia, is a through passenger to San Francisco by the Makura, which -arrived today from Sydney. : ■ ■■■•■;.- - ■
The motion picture industry in Australia, Mr, Ehrenreich told a "Post" reporter, was developing rapidly. So its as stars and players were concerned there was plenty of material, but experience was lacking. Some wellknown stars were to be imported from England and America, and this should assist greatly in the training of local players. . The visit of Helen Twelvetrees to. Australia would •■ give potential stars an idea of the right technique to adopt. Quite a few New Zealanders were playing minor parts in some of the films produced. Mr. Ehrenreich said that Australia was just as suitable for outdoor scenes as America was. There was plenty of capital available in Australia for the production of motion pictures.
