Arrangements have been completed for the Canterbury Plunket Shield representatives (holders of the trophy) to leave Christchurch for Wellington on December 26, play Wellington at the Basin Reserve on December 27, 28, 30, and 31, leave for Auckland on the night of December 31 and play Auckland at Eden Park on January 2, 3, 4, and 6. It was reported to the Wellington Cricket Association's management committee by Mr. J. H. Phillipps (Wellington's delegate to the conference in Christchurch) that he had agreed on the committee's behalf to a suggestion by Canterbury that the match with| Wellington be commenced at 2 p.m. oh December 27 in view of the fact that the team would arrive in Wellington that morning from the south. That concession meant simply that the playing time would be the same as in having Christmas Day as one of the playing days, it having been the practice in the past to start play on Christmas Day at ? p.m. At this week's' meeting of the Canterbury Cricket Association, however, a report by the chairman stated that the Canterbury team would commence its match with Wellington at 11 a.m. on the day of arrival.
