MERRY LAP BADLY HURT

Fears that Merry Lap's injury at Te Rapa will keep him off the scene for some considerable time were confirmed by his trainer, C. Morse, who stated that the injury to his tendon is a very severe one, and that he is unlikely to race again for some months. By doing the "hat trick" Merry Lap gave distinct promise of developing into a hurdler of class, but his career has been temporarily checked. It is a coincidence that Merry Lap's fullbrother, Gay Lap, was destroyed last week owing to breaking a leg, and that a couple of days later Merry Lap was severely injured.
