LONDON PRICES FIRMER

About 7950 bales of Australian and New-Zealand wools were sold ' Animated general competition ruled and all prices were tending firmer. New Zealand greasy, merino. "COT," sold at lod per lb. Scoured, "Dunstaa Downs." made 24^d; greasy halfbred, "COT," sold 14id highest and 13+1 average.

The Bank of New Zealand, produce department, has been advised by its London office, under date November 22, that the market is very active with prices generally above the openinc rates, particularly for crossbreds. Current quotations:—Merinos, super 60/64's 16d to 17d per lb, ordinary 60'64's 144 d to 15d, inferior 60/64's 12d to 121 d; halfbreds, 56/58's 12Jd to 131 d 56's Ilia to 12Jd, 50/56's lOd to 10id; crossbreds, 50's 9id to lOd, 48/50's BJd to 9Jd 46/ 48'j BJd to 9d, 44/46's B{d to Bid, 40' 44's 7id to Bd, 36/40' a 71d to 7?d. Murray, Roberts, and Co., Ltd., are in receipt of the following wool market cablegram from their London agents, dated November 22:—Sales continue with a good tone. Greasy merino, wool suitable for the Continent, market shows a hardening tendency. Scoured merino, except the best descriptions, have advanced 5 per cent., and crossbred greasy fine and medium advanced 5 per cent. The Bank of New South Wales is in receipt, of the-following cable message from its London office, dated November 22:—W001, active demand continues with prices slightly higher than opening rates. Average or estimated prices of New Zealand greasy -fleece ordinary top-making wools: Merino, 60/64, 115 d; fine halfbred, 56/58, Hid; halfbred, 50/56, 101 d; three-quarterbred, 48/50, 9d: fine crossbred. 46/48, 84d; medium crossbred, 44/46, BJd; crossbred,- 40/44, 7|d. ■- ■ • . . •
