OVERSEAS GAMES
NEW ZEALAND'S TEAMS New Zealand's team at the next Olympic Games, to be held in Berlin in August, 1936, is likely to be small, but, according to the annual report of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association, now that it has been decided to allot the next British Empire Games to Sydney it is probable that the Dominion will be strongly represented at this fixture. Reference is made in the report to the intensive preparations being made by the German organising committee for the Olympic Games, and to the indications that the Games bid fair to excel even the high standard achieved at Los Angeles in 1932. The report adds: "Owing to the great expense and the time involved in sending an athlete so far away from home, and owing to the very high standard of the competition to be met with, New Zealand's team is likely to be small. Nominations for the team must be in the hands of the New Zealand Olympic Association by March 20, 1936."
The report discusses the prospect of the British Empire Games for 1938 being held in Austr\'ia, but since the report was compiled cable advice has been received of the decision to allocate these Games to Sydney. Upon the assumption of the Empire fixture being held there, the i-eport states that it is probable New Zealand will be represented by the largest team ever to leave these shores.
