MIRAMAR KINDERGARTEN

The queen carnival in aid of the Miramar Public Kindergarten was brought to a successful conclusion at the Rio Grande Cabaret, Miramar, when the coronation of the successful candidate took place.

The children were trained' and the ceremony was arranged by Mrs. Kelly. The successful candidate, Laurel Robinson (13,215 votes), and her supporters, raised the creditable sum of £55 Is 3d, the next, Claire Nicholson (8979 votes), followed with the pleasing sum of £36 13s Id, and the third girl, Mercedes Wilson (4574 votes) and her party were responsible for the'amount of £19 Is 2d.

The president of the kindergarten committee, Mrs. O. G. Smith, in a short speech, voiced the appreciation of the committee and made presentations of chocolates and other gifts to the children taking, part.
