BIRRLJ SULTANATE SUBMITS
STRATEGIC TALTJE
United Pre^s Association—By Elcclrlc T«l«----grapli—Copyright. (Received November 20, 2:30 pjn.) LONDON, November 19. The Rome correspondent of "Th» Times" says that a very important development is the submission, of , the Birru Sultanate to Italy.' The territory comprises a vast region in Danakil Plain and the peaceful occupation of it is most valuable cm the.projected Italian push at the base at Assab to Dessie and also to Aussa, where the local chiefs are likely to receive the invaders favourably, preparatory to their further advance southwards, simultaneously with General Graziani'i fresh push towards Ogaden. The "Daily Mail's" Rome corro pondent points out that the main object of the early Italian operations will be to effect a speedy union between Marshal Badoglio, who is proceeding south, and General Graziani, who is moving north, which would place Signor Mussolini in a much better position to negotiate for peace.
