ISSUE AT ELECTION
"The issue at this election is one between the Labour Party and the Government as the representative of the vested interests in this country," declared Mr. R. McKeen, Labour candidate for Wellington South, in the course of an address to electors at St. Hilda's Hall, Island Bay, last night. Mr. McKeen said the Democrats were a body that had come into the election in the last five minutes. They did not appear to be taking an active part in this national campaign. MR. TREADWELL'S CAMPAIGN Criticism of Labour Party practices and intentions was offered by Mr. C. A. L. Treadwell, Government candidate for Wellington North, at a largelyattended meeting in the Methodist Church Hall in Molesworth Street last evening. There were many interjections. At the close of the meeting a vote of thanks and confidence was moved, but it was heartily disputed by the body of the audience. In his- address the candidate traversed the exchange rate, guaranteed prices, costless credit, social services, shipping lines, tourist traffic, secondary industries, milk supply, and I other aspects of Dominion development. , ' I
