OFFICERS ELECTED |

Proposals relating to local swimmitng matters were discussed at last night's meeting of the Wellington Centre :of the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association. The principle of grade swimming; was approved, and a committee composed of Messrs. W. Bousfield and J.j C. Blakeley was set up to decide onj a suitable scheme to submit to the com-} mittee. Mr. L. Dawkins's motion thati the Peck Shield'harbour race should^ be conducted on a sealed handicapl basis was lost. The fine record of Mr. Baxter O'Neill, who has been for 21 years the Wellington Centre's representative on ■' the Dominion Association Council at Christchurch, was commented on by several members of the Wellington, body. It was decided that a letter of appreciation should be sent to Mr. O'Neill. Mr. N. N. Oldershaw was recommended for an honorary blazer of the New Zealand Association. The following officers were elected for the ensuing season:—President, Mr. I. Duncan; vice-presidents, the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes, the Hon. R. Masters, Sir A. F. Roberts, Messrs. W. Nash, M.P., W. A..Dickson, T. C. A. Hislop, A. A. Stitchbury. and T. -Queree; chairman, Mr. D. S. N. McCartney; local officer, Mr. V. L. Allen; educational officer, Mr. F. M. Pinfold; secretary, Mr. N. N. Oldershaw: treasurer, Mr. A. A. Jenkins; auditor, Mr. W. G. Morpeth; delegate to New Zealand Association, Mr. B. O'Neill; medicaV officers. Dr. J. M. Twhigg and Dr. J. T. Harding; handicapper. Mr. J. C. .Blakeley; executive committee. Messrs. W. J. Look, C. E. Claridge, McCartney., and Oldershaw; polo sub-committee, Messrs. B. Mclvor, C. E. Claridge, W. Bousfield. K. Spry, R. C. Bradshaw, and T. B. Hewitt; tepid baths committee, Messrs. Claridge, P. Coira. C. Emerson, J. C. Blakeley, and E. B. Hughes. The opening of the season was fixed to take place at the Te Aro Baths on December 14.
