FUNEEAL SERVICE
LATE REV. WILLIAM DAY
There was a large attendance-at the funeral service of the Rev. William Day, held at the Kelburn Presbyterian Church on Saturday afternoon.
The service was conducted- by the Rev. D. D. Scott (Khandallah). Also at the Communion table were the Rt. Rev. H. H. Barton, M.A., Moderator of the Presbyterian General Assembly, the Rev. A. E. Hunt, and the Rev. J. S. Murray, M.A., each of whom took part in the service,' which was solemn and impressive.
Mrs. Day (the widow), Mrs. Heather (daughter), and Messrs. Spencer and Arthur Day (sons) were the chief mourners. "
Alter the service the cortege left for the crematorium, Karori Cemetery. The pall-bearers, both at the church and at the crematorium, were Messrs. G..W. Guthrie, C. S. Moore, G. Thompson, G. Wilson (elders), and R. L. Andrew and H. Rose (managers), of the Kelburn congregation. At the crematorium the last rites were conducted by the Rev. D. D. Scott, assisted by the Rev. N. Elliott, of Whangarei, and the Rev. F. B. Barton (Gore).
Among others present were the Revs. J. H. MacKenzie, R. Inglis, J. R. Blanchard, J. Allan, J. McD. Wilson, G. D. Falconer, J. C. McCau, Jas. Patterson, W. Johnson, A. Jj. Dixon, A. McNeur, I. Fraser, D. Hercus, J. M. McKenzie, F. Wilkinson, R. S. Watson, A. B. Kilroy, J. Miller, Messrs. H. H. Cornish, Malcolm Fraser, N. J. Patterson, A. Macintosh, R. Tait, E. P. Hay, C. S. FaJconer, N. Fleming, J. Bath, V. G. Chapman, T. Marsh, J. G. Smith, N. Nichol, and members of the Kelburn congregation.
