LONDON MEAT MARKET
According to the weekly cable report received from London by the New Zealand Meat Producers' Board, the demand for frozen lamb has been checked by heavy supplies of homekilled, and prices have declined. Lightweight wethers are steady with moderate demand. Heavyweights are unchanged, but have a tendency to be easier. Lightweight ewes are steady, but other descriptions are weaker, with trade slow. The frozen beef market is quiet and steady, with prices unchanged. The market for New Zealand porker pigs is steady and unchanged. The demand has improved, and the market closed firm with an upward tendency. Business in baconers is nominal as very few are available.
