CHILD FATALLY SCALDED

(By Telegraph—Press Association.)

AUCKLAND, November 6.

Fatal scalds were received by Stanley Joseph Otto, aged two years and a half, when he fell backward into a pan of hot water at his parents' home at Ararimu this morning. The child, whose back was severely scalded, was brought to Auckland Hospital and died this evening.

A large pan of water had been heated on the kitchen range by the child's father, Mr. A. A. Otto, and was momentarily-left on the kitchen floor. The child, the second youngest of a family of five, stepped backward and tripped over the pan, falling into the hot water.
