DEMOCRATS AND DOUGLAS
CREDIT
Asked at Miramar last night whether the Democrat Party would consider making any alterations in the present monetary system, Mr. W. Duncan, Democrat candidate for Wellington East, said that question had yet to be considered.
"Have you ever made a study of Douglas Social Credit?" persisted the questioner.
"I admit I went to hear Major Douglas."
"And wore you no wiser when you left?"
"No. I am open to be taught what he means, but what he means I don't understand."
Mr. Duncan said the Democrat Party had not turned Douglas Credit down —it had ypt 1o so into it.
Motions of sympathy with the relatives of the late Mr. J. W. Longman. a member of the Board ol Managers for five years, and with the relatives of the latfi Robert John Rilcy; one of the pupils of the college, who was drowned in the recent launch tragedy, were passed last evening by the Board of Managers of the Petone Memorial Technical College.
