OBITUARY

MRS. SARAH DRAKE

Many friends will regret to learn of the death of Mrs. Sarah Drake ; wife of the late Mr. Daniel Drake, which occurred after a brief illness at her residence, 123 Molesworth Street, on Tuesday. Mrs. Drake's parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Remnant, arrived in Wellington in October, 1842, as passengers on the George Fife. Born on the Old Porirua Road, in 1851, Mrs. Drake saw many changes in Wellington and told many an interesting story of the early days. Being of kindly disposition, she was ever willing to help anyone in distress. The late Mrs. Drake leaves two sons,and two daughters, Mr. Ernest Drake (Nelson) Mr. W. J. Drake (Paekakariki), and Misises Amy and Grace Drake. There are five grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren.
