YEAR'S WORK COMPLETED
The year's work of the Ladies' Social Committee of the English Speaking Union was completed yesterday; when Miss Black, the chairwoman, gave a very delightful atfernoon tea to members of the committee. This was held in the reception-room of the English Speaking Union, which was charmingly decorated with sweet peas, ixias, and tritonias.
The members present were:—Mrs. Hay MacKenzie. Mrs. E. D. Good, Mrs, A. Burnard. Mrs. J. K. Preston. Mrs. Phclan. Mrs. J. W. Bennie, and Mrs. D. V. Claridge.
A very happy atmosphere prevailed, members expressing genera] satisfaction on the work of the year, and looking forward to still greater achievements after the resumption in February.
