ASHBURTON GAS
The directors of the Ashburton Gas, Coal and Coke Company, Ltd., in the 57th annual report, recommend payment of a dividend at the rate of 7 per cent, per annum. The report adds that the appropriation account shows a credit balance of £3261 Is Bd, which the directors recommend should be dealt with as follows:—To write £732 6s 9d off the plant accounts for depreciation; place £200 to the reserve account on deposit: add £150 to the renewal fund; to absorb £1671 3s Id on the payment of the dividend; and to carry the balance of £507 11s 4d forward.
