MR. HARGEST'S SERVICES
(By Telegraph—Press Association.)
INVERCARGILL, This Day.
Striking evidence of the appreciation felt by citizens of Mr. J. Hargesfs services as member for Invercargill was given last evening, when a large gathering of his 1931 committee, friends, and supporters took leave of him politically. He was farewelled as the city's representative, and good wishes were extended for his success in Awarua.
In his reply Mr. Hargest paid a tribute to the leaders of the Government, saying that Mr. Forbes had never swerved from his duty and that Mr. Coates was a strong and fearless man who had done much to restore prosperity to New Zealand.
