Professional Golf Association's annual, tournament. ■' . ' In other important matches Gene Sarazen defeated George Crist, 4 and 3, Paul Runyan defeated Louis Chiapetta, 5 and 4; Olin Dutra defeated Gordon Brunton, 6 and 5; Horton Smith defeated Picard, one up; and gDensmore Shule defeated Sterling Salines, 4 and 3. ' In the' second round, Alvin Krueger eliminated Sarazen, 2 and 1; Runyan defeated Dutra, 3 and 2; Revolta defeated Hines, 1 up; Parks defeated Francis Schneider, 1 up; Smith defeated Ray Mangrum, 1 up; Shute defeated Henry Bontempo, 4 and 3; and Laffoon defeated Eddie Loos, 1 up at the twenty-first.
