WOULD YOU LIKE TO PAY OUT MORE IN TAXES?
One of the many items in prohibition's crippling bill of costs would be the annual loss of over £1,350,000 (Customs and Excise Duties), voluntarily contributed revenue. This money would have to be-replaced by new taxes. .■■'■■ . .
Another is the loss of. wages directly Paid by hotels, breweries, and wine and spirit merchants, amounting each year to over £1,650,000. Wages would also be lost in allied industries.. More new taxes would be required for a great new army of unemployed. •That is not all.. Another £500,000 would be required for hopeless enforcement, measures. Still more taxes would be necessary to provide this money.
Altogether.well over £3,000,000 annually to be raised by new taxes. What a prospect! .You want taxes reduced, not increased. Vole Continuance, and Keep taxes down. Strike out the two bottom, lines.—Advt .
