A "VICE VERSA" PARTY
DANCE AT ST. HILDA'S HALL
' St. Hilda's. Hall, Island Bay, was the scene of much merriment and happiness on Saturday night, when the residents celebrated the partial completion of the extension which is being added to St. Hilda's' Hall.
■ The evening was a unique one as far as the Island Bay district was concerned, and approximately IGO dancers took part in a novel party which took the form, of a "Vice Versa" evening. The host and hostess, Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Smith, received the guests at the entrance to the new hall, which the builders had hastily prepared for the temporary occupation. • On all sides expressions of surprise and amusement were heard when the "yide-versas" in. their new robes'.were recognised. The judge, ,Mrs. H. C. Parsons, had a somewhat difficult task in- awarding the prizes, as there were such a number taking the "vice versa" parts in outstanding manner. Mrs. Sam Hall as a golfer in plus fours, and Mr. W: R. Anderson as a prima donna secured the first prizes, and the highly commended were Mrs. A. Loadsman, Mrs. Inwood, and Mrs. E. J. Smith. The.winners in the "Lucky Name" item were Mrs. Gibson, Miss Phyllis Breeze, and Mr. Joe-Hy land. It was< announced that the grand opening party would be held the following week.
