SUCCESSFUL PARTIES

Another pleasant card tournamentwas held last evening at the headquarters of the Kilbirme, Lyall Bay, and Melrose Auxiliary Committee, W.R.S.A., 15 Bay Road, Kilbirnie. The prizes for bridge were won by Mrs. E. Twist and Mr. J. Gilbert and those for "500" by Mrs. P. Charteris and Mr. G. Charteris.

On the previous evening the auxiliary held a special card tournament in order to raise funds for the Health Stamp, campaign, the prize winners being Mrs. F. J. Averv and Mr. D. Gunn (bridge) and Mrs. J. Lyon and Mr. J.-Beattie ("500").

At the conclusion of the tournament the chairman of the auxiliary, Mr. D. Gunn, presented Mr. P; A. Coira with a cheque for £3, being the proceeds of the evening. In accepting the cheque oh behalf of the local Health Stamp campaign committee, Mr. Coira gave an outline of the campaign which is being conducted throughout the Dominion, and stated that any funds raised locally could, if required, be spent immediately in sending children from the district to the health camp at Otaki. He thanked the auxiliary for the lead they had given and expressed the hope that other organisations in the district would endeavour to support the campaign.
