"A VERY BLACK BACKGROUND"
The Democrat candidate for Patea, Dr. G. J. Adams, of Wanganui, was asked at the opening meeting of his campaign at Hawera if the Democrat picture was unduly rosy. Dr. Adams replied that it might appear so, but that was only because, it was framed on the very black background of the past few years' legislation.
