DEFENCE OF SOMALILAND

LONDON, October 7.
The "Sun-Herald" agency says that reports have reached London, concerning which official quarters are silent. Met Indian troops have been dis-
patched to British Somaliland for defensive works, including the digging of trenches which has already been carried out in Egypt. It is further stated that British and Italian warships have each searched merchantmen in the Mediterranean Sea.
