HOUGHTON VALLEY CLUB

On Saturday the Houghton Valley Tennis Club opened their season and, as weather conditions prevented the ceremony being held out of doors, this was held in the local hall. Mr. G. Nicol, vice-president, declared the season open, and Mrs. Nicol hit the first ball.

A presentation was made to Mr. M. Sinclair in appreciation of the work done by him in the.laying down of the court, and floral sprays were presented by Nola Tofts to Mesdames Nicol and Williamson.

There was an attendance of approximately 50 members and visitors.

Afternoon tea was served by the committee. -
