FREEZING COMPANY'S PROFITS.

The annual report of the South Otago Freezing Company shows that the company has had a prosperous year. The number of sheep and lambs put through, the works totalled 314,237, with an addition of 2855 cattle and 1834 pigs. The previous year's figures were 295,300, 4188, and 824 respectively. After making provision for depreciation and transferring £9000 to reserve for income tax, £5000 to general reserve, and £1200 to reserve for loss against consignment advances the profit remaining, including last year's balance, is £ 17,348. It is proposed to pay a dividend of 8 per cent., absorbing £5304, and to carry forward a balance of £12,043.
