INDOOR BOWLING
The Orphans' Club, arid the Savage Club were opponents' at indoor bowls this week. Five" rinks represented each club. The Savages won three, games,1 but as it was'decided before play commenced that the aggregate score would, decide the winners, the Orphans won by 105, points to 85. The Post and Telegraph Pastimes Club held another tournament last Saturday evening, ten rinks taking I part. Five games of'five heads were played, players changing after each game. The following were the sue-1 cessful players:—Williamson four wins,! Hodgson four •wins, Lonsdale and Harris tied, and on the play-off Lonsdale proved the winner.. The usual -vening tournament was held on Monday. Hadwin's rink from the Hutt was successful in winning the first prize, and Hart, of Island Bay, secured the second prize. East the opportunity of evening the points should Kia Toa lose the second game also, and Wellington East win their fixture.
On Saturday, Newtown O.G. defeated Handwick by 14 points to 9 after a hard-fought, bustling game. The closest game of the day was that between Wellington East O.G. (7) and Wesley (5). Play was on the defensive most of the time and: neither set of forwards was shooting very accurately •"
Kia Ora, playing one short in centre, controlled play throughout their game with St. Patrick's, whose forwards rarely had the opportunity of gaining easy shooting position. They won by 21 points to 10.
