AUCKLAND TROTTING CLUB

Regret that the year had not been successful financially is expressed in the report of the Auckland Trotting Club.

After writing off £1148 for depreciation, the balance-sheet shows a loss for the year of £2324, of which amount racing was responsible for £448 and the Otahuhu property for £729. The loss is attributed mainly to adverse weather condtiions.

During the year the club distributed £16,320 in stakes, this being an increase of £1125 compared with the previous year. As the net revenue from the totalisator was only £15,658 this sum was £662 under the amount given in stakes. It would be seen that it was therefore necessary for the incoming committee to consider carefully what amount should be allotted in stakes for the new season.
