WELLINGTON UNION
A meeting of the management committee of the Wellington Rugby Union was held last evening. Mr. J. Prendeville presided. Permission was granted to the Wellington Tramways Football Club to play its match for the Kohn Shield with the Christchurch Tramways team on August 21. The Health Department and the Pensions Department were also granted permission to play their annual match on July 18. Scots College was granted permission to play the annual fixture with Dannevirke High School at Dannevirke on July 17, subject to the manager being approved by the union. - The joint secretaries of the combined Police-Post and Telegraph Departments' football committee wrote asking for permission to play the annual charity fixture at Athletic Park on August 7. It was stated that the proceeds would be divided between the Mayor's Fund, Fielden Taylor's Mission, the Home of Compassion, and the Free Ambulance. The application was approved, subject to the date not being required for the interycollege match. The following senior fixtures were arranged for Saturday week: — SENIOR A—FIRST DIVISION. Petone v. Hutt, at Hutt Recreation Ground. • Wellington College Old Boys v. Eastbourne, at Eastbourne. Poneke v. Wellington, at Newtown Park. ■ • Oriental v. Athletic, at Kelburn Park. . • Jrihnsonville v. Marist, at Kilbirnie. SENIOR A—SECOND DIVISION. University v. Berhampore, at Wakefield Park. Miramar v. St. Patrick's, at Polo Ground. Wellington v. Melrose-Selwyn, at Prince of Wales Park. Petone v. Wellington College Old Boys, at Petone Recreation Ground. SENIOR B GRADE. ' •: Poneke v. Hutt, at Lyall Bay; Marist v. Porirua, at Porirua; Onslow v. Eastbourne, at Eastbourne; Hutt B v. Athletic, in town. '
