WAIRARAPA HIGHWAYS

APPROVAL OF PLANS '

(Special to the "Evening Post.") MASTERTON, This Day. At yesterday's meeting of the Masterton County Council, the engineers, Messrs. Seaton, Sladden, and Pavitt, reported that the Main Highways Board ,had approved of the plans and specifications for the preparation of the work and sealing a .three-mile section of the Masterton-Martinborough main highway, from the borough boundary to Warden's bridge.. The board, however, had advised that it had to be distinctly understood that the carrying out of the work would depend upon whether financial provision could-be made for the item on the estimates which were now in the course of preparation.

The engineers added that the plans and specifications for the construction of the Makoura stream bridge on the Masterton-Marlinborough main highway and those for the preparation for sealing a 2J-mile section of the Master-ton-Weber main highway, from Te Ore Ore to the Wangaehu bridge, had also been approved on the same conditions as those relating to the first-mentioned work. The reports were received.
