BONUS PAYMENT
MASTERTON DAIRY COMPANY
(Special to the "Evening Post") MASTERTON, This Day. Bonus and other payments engaged the attention of the directors of ths Masterton Co-operative Dairy Company at a full meeting of the board held yesterday. Mr. J. C. Ewington presided. The meeting was the final one for the producing year, which ended on June 30 last. A statement of the funds available for a bonus payment to suppliers was submitted by the secretary, Mr. C. Van Praagh, and the directors decided upon a payment of one penny 'per 1b of butterfat supplied during the months September, 1934, to April, 1935, inclusive. The payment is tD be made by July 20. ■ The payment for June butterfat is to be lOd per 1b for finest. The secretary reported that the'total manufacture of butter for the year was 967 tons, as compared with 1132 tons in 1933-34. The drop was due entirely to the serious summer drought experienced in the Wairarapa up to February last. The percentage of local sales in 1934-35 was 30.04, as compared with 24.3 in 1933-34. This represented an increased amount of 32,8841b of butter sold locally last season. The manager, Mr. W. C. Batty, reported that the.factory and plant were in first-rate order, with everything in readiness for the coming season. A new churn is to be installed at the. end of this month.
