REPORT BY EXPERTS

(Special to the "Evening Post.")

PALMERSTON N., This Day.

At yesterday's meeting of the Mana-watu-Oroua Power Board,' Mr. J. A. Nash, M.P., made reference to the report prepared by a special committee of experts set up ,by the Power Boards' Association to investigate the question of bulk supply. He said he had made arrangements for every member of every power board to get a copy, as the report dealt with many important matters, such as the proposed amalgamation of Government accounts in regard to electricity as 9 means of bringing about standard charges. It also dealt with accumulated losses, and suggested that the department should capitalise those Decause continued losses meant a continuance of high charges.

A special clause dealt with a load inducement charge and there was also a recommendation that the Government should use standby plants t.i save any major capital being expended on the hydro schemes.

The report showed clearly, Mr. Nash said, that at the present time there could be no reduction in price for bulk supply, but it also showed when a reduction could be brought about, and how much quicker under the. proposals set out in the report.
