LEVIN MEETING
A meeting of the Levin Women's Institute was' Held at the Oddfellows' Hall, .there being a record attendance of members. The proceedings opened with the singing of the "Ode to Friendship," and the president, '.Mrs. C.'-E. Thorpe, then extended a "welcome to members, to several visitors present, and also to two new members, . ' :
Mr. and Mrs. Holdaway gave a very interesting demonstration' 'of -rush-i work, arid exhibited some' beautifu^ specimens of their work.. Members were surprised to learn what" really! lovely articles could be "made from "lowly rushes." A very hearty vote of thanks was accorded, by acclamation; to Mr. .and Mrs. Holdaway. T, , i The competition was for "something new made from something old." Mesdames Harris and Wilson were .the .winners. • ':, .•
An excellent afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames Armstrong, Dalton, Meddings, and Miss Dynan, and the meeting closed with the sinking of the National Anthem.
