"EIGHTH WONDER"
THE WAITOMO CAVES
VISITORS IMPRESSED
(By Telegraph—Press Association.)
HAMILTON, This Day. Unqualified praise of the beauties of the Waitomo Caves, and vigorous criticism that* the attractions are so little known, were expressed by Mr. P. 'Gupta, co-manager of the Indian hockey team, on arrival at Hamilton. On the trip from Eltham the Indians had inspected the caves.
. '-'I cannot understand," he said, "why the Tourist Department does not give these caves mere publicity. Outside of the Dominion very few know of them. As a man who has travelled in every part of the world I can assure you that the Waitomo glow-worm caves are the eighth wonder of the world. If your Government spent a little more money in advertising the caves its National Debt would soon be wiped out."
