LOCAL GOVERNMENT
A remit from North Canterbury for submission to the coming meeting of the Dominion Executive of the New Zealand Farmers' Union deals with the question of an inquiry into local body administration. The remit is as follows:—"That as the. long-promised commission to investigate local government administration seems as far off as ever the matter should be considered at the next Dominion conference and an urgent appeal made by the union and other interested bodies to ensure the fulfilment of the Government's promise during the next session of Parliament."
