PIGEON SHOW
The Wellington Homing Pigeon Society held a show for young cocks in their clubroom in Newtown Avenue on Saturday night, when 72 pigeons were penned, a number which probably constitutes a record entry for one class in New Zealand. The pigeons were judged by Mr.. J. Priest, who had a most unenviable task, as, according to the judge's comments, there was hardly a bird penned that was not worthy of a place. The winner receives a silver cup donated by Mr. F. Flipp, Kilbirnie, as well as prize money. The entries included pigeons from Wellington, Nelson, Petone, and Hutt Valley lofts.
The following were the awards:—N. Boyd and Son (Wellington), 1 and silver cup; J. Bolton (Petone, 3; J. Berrett (Wellington), 3; J. Pelrett (Wellington), v.h.c; F. Ferris (Wellington), h.c; C. Webster and Son (Wellington), c.
