MASTERTON, This Day.
A poll was taken in Masterton.yesterday for the return -of three representatives on the Masterton Trust Lands Trust. Two retiring members, Messrs. J. Macfarlane Laing and L. J." Taylor, were re-elected and also Mr.. David Caselberg, an' ex-member for a considerable period. The unsuccessful candidiates were Messrs. T. F. Watson (a retiring member and chairman, of the trust), R. Page, and F. A. Lambourn.
The yoters-were also called upon to express an opinion as to whether they favoured the restoration of the Opera House, which was bWly damaged in the earthquake of March, 1934. This resulted: In favour of restoration, 918; against restoration, 444.
