the past twelve months the association has endeavoured to ensure steady progress in the completion of existing.works and the undertaking of new works .for the betterment of conditions throughout the suburb," states the annunl report, of the Hataitai Municipal Electors' ■Association.

For many years past these roads; along with Kioßoad, have constituted a blct^on the; landscape,' aid the association has constantly requisitioned the councillor substantial work to be done; little as is-the portion now given attention, it is a start, and it is hoped before, long to have the whole of the roads in-this particular locality attended to in the same way as streets such as Hohit ia Road, Rakau iv ' r"" 8111 StT eet> Hinau Road, and others have been improved/ The! association has also been successful in having a substantial improvement' effected in Kio Koad, where a clay bank of considerable size . formerly encroached upon the available^ roadway. At the top of Grafton Koad improvements have been, effected to the level of the footpath so as to prevent I flooding in wet weather. In this vicinity alß° at the junction of Arawa, Hataitai. c *v" n a<ls- a seat has been erected tortne convenience of bus passengers." - Inc. council's loan proposals include a substantial sum for the purpose of put ting Belvedere Road into proper condition, and it is expected that a decided improvement will result in this locality. The tunnel end of Waitoa Road has been considerably improved, and the-association is endeavouring to persuade the council to do something to improve the grass verge at the eastern, end of the road, which could be made a beauty spot.
