PERSONNEL OF ALL-INDIA TEAM

Official information concerning the all-India team to tour New Zealand and Australia is now to hand. The Royal player in the team is his Highness the Nawab of Manabadar, and he will be accompanied by his private secretary, M. N. Masood, who is also a player. . , The team is as follows:—Goalkeepers, T. Blake (Sind), N. Mukherjee (Bengal); backs, Mohamed Husssin (Manabadar), P. Das (Bengal), and Rashid Ahmed (Punjab); half-backs, E.Nestor (Bengal), M. N. Masood (Manabadar), and Mohamat Naeen (Punjab); forwards, Shahabuddin (Manabadar), L. Davidson (Bengal), Dhyan Chand (Indian Army), Rup. Singh (Gwalior), H.H. the Nawab of Manabadar, M. J. Agnihotry (United Provinces), and F. Wells (United Provinces). The Nawab of Manabadar, who is one of the outstanding players in India, is captain of the team, and Dhyan Chand is vice-captain. The manager is Behram Doctor, and the assistant manager P. Gupta,. Dhyan Chand and his ' younger brother, Rup Singh, are classed by competent critics as being the two greatest forwards in the/world. They are frequently referred to as the Indian hockey "wizards." Both are Olympic champions. The team will play in Wellington on Saturday, June 1. The members of the team are keen on shooting, and facilities for providing them with sport of this nature will be welcomed. Many of the players are also bridge enthusiasts, this being their favourite indoor game.
