OPENING OF W.E.A. CLASSES.

W.E.A. tutorial classes for 1935 will commence at the Trades Hall,. Vivian Street, next Monday,' when Professor B. E. Murphy will give his opening lecture pu "The Nature and Tasks of Economics; its Value and Limitations." On the following Wednesday Professor T. A. Hunter will commence a course of twelve lectures on psychology. Mr. W. J. Mountjoy, 8.A., L.T.C.L., has arranged a course of ten lectures on . "The Enjoyment of P6etry," with practice in voice production and verse speaking, and his class will be held on Thursday evenings, commencing on May 9. The classes will meet in the same room at 7.45 each evening, and a discussion hour will follow the tutor's lecture. A small fee will be charged for each course of lectures, but the classes are free to unemployed men and women. During the second half of the session Dr. A. G. Butchers will give a course of twelve lectures on "Current History," and Mrs. Craig Mackenzie, M.A., will give a similar course on "Literature and the Drama." Short courses' of four lectures will also be given at intervals on Tuesday evenings by Professor P. Wood, Dr. C. E. Beeby, and Dr. I. L. G. Sutherland, and the first series will commence oil Tuesday, May 7, when Professor Wood will speak on "Some Revolutions of the Nineteenth Century." At Lower Hutt Dr. Cyprus E. Mitchell will conduct a class in "The Principles and Problems of Democracy" on Wednesday evenings in the Borough Council Chambers, commencing next Wednesday, and. his course will be followed by a further one on "Postwar Europe," withMDr. J.. C.. Beaglehole as tutor.
