CRAFT -CUT IN HALF
(Received April 24, 10.30 a.m.)
MELBOURNE, This Day,
In circumstances similar to those on April 4, when a' Scots College crew, training for the Head of the River race on the Parramatta River* had their boat cut in two by a large launch which1 collided with it, a University racing eight skiff was cut in halves by' a ferry steamer during a practice run*
The racing shell was carried into the path of the ferry" steamer by the flood waters of the Maribyrnorig River. The rowers, who were rescued by the crew Of the ferry steamer, escaped uninjured, apart from the shock of immersion. . ■
